convictions

to be taught, practiced, and embodied

– Live a courageous missional presence

– Live the Word of God

– Live empowered by the Spirit

– Live as Whole-Hearted Worshippers

– Live as counter-cultural community

– Live with extravagant generosity

– Live the way of Jesus

what to expect

Students can expect to learn and practice the values above by sitting under lectures from staff and other Garden leaders, participating in Garden Prayer Rooms, investing in staff culture, and walking out practicals for a life in the Kingdom alongside a cohort of other students. Students will engage with regular serve projects in our city, and bring what we're learning in the classroom to life by going out on the streets and ministering to our neighbors. Students will also rotate through various serve roles for our Sunday gatherings.

School will start January 14th, 2025. Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and students will need to be available for Garden's Sunday gatherings each weekend. Exact dates and times will be discussed upon acceptance, but students can expect to be at Garden Church between the hours of 7:30-4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Here's a sample day in the life of a Garden School of Ministry Student:

7:30 am-8:30 am | Participate in morning Prayer Room at Garden Church

9:00 am-11:30 am | Join Garden Church staff for weekly staff meeting which includes worship, prayer, story-telling, and teaching

12:00 pm-12:30 pm | Gather with cohort to check-in, and discuss prior week's learnings

12:30 pm-1:30 pm | Sit under theological/formational teaching from a Garden staff member or leader

1:45 pm-3:00 pm | Engage practical training/equipping led by Garden staff member or leader

3:00 pm-5:00 pm | Join other leaders to serve at one of Garden's local partners (Lydia House in Long Beach, for example) or to pray for neighbors on the street
