WANT TO DO FURTHER RESEARCH?

Here are a few resources if you want to study The Good News of the Kingdom a bit further:

1. The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard

In this book, Dallas Willard helps us rediscover what true discipleship is compared to the common consumer Christianity of our time. It is through his wise understanding of God's kingdom and the current reality of the reign of Jesus, that we find a compelling vision for a fresh approach to an apprenticeship with Jesus.

2. Surprised by Hope by N.T. Wright

N.T. Wright helpfully unpacks the early Christian worldview of the here-and-now reality of the Kingdom of God.

3. Gospel Allegiance by Matthew Bates

'Salvation by Faith Alone' is a common phrase that most modern-day believers consider a core tenant of their faith. However, do we understand 'faith' the same way as the early disciples did? Read this book to understand how we must redefine 'faith' as 'allegiance' to King Jesus.

4. The Upside-Down Kingdom by Donald Kraybill

Jesus didn't come to meet our expectations. In fact, Jesus' goal was to subvert our reality and show us that the way we have been living has been upside-down the entire time. Yet, for us who are used to one way of reality, the Kingdom's correct orientation may often feel like the one that is upside-down.

5. The Day the Revolution Began by N.T. Wright

The renowned scholar, Anglican bishop, and bestselling author widely considered to be the heir to C. S. Lewis contemplates the central event at the heart of the Christian faith—Jesus’ crucifixion—arguing that the Protestant Reformation did not go far enough in transforming our understanding of its meaning.

6. Simply Jesus by N.T. Wright

In another crucial work by N.T. Wright, he helps us meet and understand who Jesus was and is. For followers of Jesus this is a necessary book to understand how to communicate the relevance of Jesus here and now.
